Set amongst the natural splendour of the North Lakeland National Park, this house and adjoining holiday cottages are tastefully furnished, providing a cosy and relaxed environment. A haven for nature lovers or for those wishing to get away from it all, as well as a wonderful base for touring, walking, cycling and enjoying the many outdoor activities this region has to offer. Ullswater is only 5 minutes away, where you can take the Lake Steamer to Howtown and walk back along the lakeside or sail to Pooley Bridge. Keswick, Ambleside and Grasmere offer shops and galleries and the breathtaking Honister, Hard Knott and Kirkstone passes are a must. Bank House is a traditional former farm house, overlooking the hamlet of Matterdale End, and enjoying panoramic views of the Ullswater fells from the house and terraced garden. The holiday cottages share an enclosed sitting out area with access to the field, which is suitable for dog walks. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
