Magnificent wide sandy beaches at nearby St. Bees, the historic harbour, marina and shops at Whitehaven (10 miles), and the wonderful Western Fells of the Lake District National Park all nearby. Ennerdale Water and Wast Water (voted Britain’s Favourite View 2007) are within half an hour’s drive with the Langdale Pikes just beyond. For a superb day out Muncaster Castle also has beautiful gardens and an internationally renowned Owl Sanctuary, not to mention the amazing views from its elevated position. Shops and pub 400 yards, restaurant 4 miles.
