Built on the site of an outpost of Hadrian’s Wall, the cottage stands alongside the castle ruin and Bewcastle church. It is off the beaten track and will appeal to country lovers and those looking for a tranquil retreat. The Scottish Border, Lake District and Northumberland are within an easy drive. Walking, cycling, fishing (brown trout) are available on the farm. Shop 5 miles, pub 4 miles.
