With its narrow winding streets, its interesting shops and galleries, and its churchyard famed for its 99 yew trees.

Painswick lies between the former wool town of Stroud, the cathedral city of Gloucester and its docks, and the Regency town of Cheltenham with its theatres, restaurants and shops. Painswick Golf Club is within walking distance and trout fishing and horse riding are available at neighbouring villages.
