Greetham Retreat offers a very good standard of accommodation set within the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A former agricultural barn and crew yard, the properties have been converted into purpose-built self catering holiday accommodation with a modern and contemporary style. Set in 4 acres of grounds which include a newly planted woodland area with mowed walkways, a wild flower meadow, large wildlife pond and a variety of seating areas from which to enjoy the outstanding views. The owners have also erected several bird and bat boxes which include barn owl, tawny owl, kestrel and other breeds around the grounds to encourage conservation and attract wildlife. In spring 2010 Greetham Retreat saw its first kestrel fledglings in one of the newly erected boxes. The location is ideal for those who wish to get away from it all and enjoy the peaceful countryside found in this area of The Lincolnshire Wolds. There are many walks throughout the area and good cycle routes too. The market town of Horncastle, well known for its antique shops, is only 31/2 miles away, and the Georgian market town of Louth is 91/2 miles away. Lincoln Cathedral is 25 miles away with the sandy beaches of Skegness just 19 miles. Shop 21/2 miles, pub 2 miles.
