The harbour at Brixham is full of little fishing boats and trawlers, with wonderful restaurants and bars. Take a boat and go across to Torquay for a great day out. Brixham has a splendid marina and is home to many wonderful boats. The marina also enjoys a rather grand wooden trawler fleet, the last of which was actually built in Brixham in 1926 and is part of the local heritage. Nearby Paignton has a zoo, many sandy beaches, a water park and steam train. Dartmouth with its quaint shops and fantastic restaurants, castle and numerous boats which will take you around the bay, is only 5 miles. Take a trip on the steam railway from Kingswear to Paignton. If you fancy golf, horseriding, fishing, or sailing all these activities can be found locally. Take a trip to Dartmoor and climb the rugged heather clad tors, see the ponies and stop for a famous Devon cream tea, in one of the lovely villages. Agatha Christies home at Greenway is well worth a visit. There are so many National Trust properties to visit, you will have to return. Shop, pub and restaurant 1/4 mile.
