These seven delightful barn conversion holiday cottages are located in a beautiful and tranquil location on the edge of Tavistock. A great location for couples and families of all ages. Outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy walking and cycling will love the rugged wilderness of the Dartmoor National Park and lovely stannary market town, with its farmers markets and victorian antiques market. Those who want to explore this area of Devon will find much to do on day trips and it is the perfect holiday retreat for keen fishermen. But you don’t have to be a keen fisherman to enjoy all there is to offer here. With Dartmouth National Park right on your doorstep and the lovely town of Tavistock close by, this is a great location for everyone. Honeymooners will love Pond Cottage, (ref 25765) and those with walking disabilities and wheelchair users will find that Old Stable (ref 25767) has easy access. Situated on the Trout Fishery site, you may want to use the opportunity to practice your fly fishing skills. The many deep, clear lakes are home to rainbow and brown trout, some over 10lbs (tackle and tuition can be arranged). For the children, how about taking advantage of the fishing taster session where your 1st fishing lesson is free and each family can go away with their own freshly caught trout to cook on the barbecue, adults are welcome to try fly fishing too. Children will love the chickens, ducks and guinea fowl roaming in the farmyard, and they can feed and collect the hens eggs every morning, and come and meet our friendly pot bellied pigs and see the rabbits in bunny corner. Near the tackle shop by one of the lakes there is a games room/lounge area. There is also a picnic and play area with a 12ft trampoline. Tavistock, known for its farmers markets and fresh produce, has independent shops and lots of restaurants and bars, including our own pub just across the road, serving good home cooked food and real ales. Horse riding and golf can also be found locally. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub 200 yards.
