Raydale House

Sleeps: 12 Bedrooms: 6
Pets: Yes Start Day: Friday

Dating back to the 17th century, this period house was home to the last act of private and domestic warfare in England, possession of the house was fought over by Sir Thomas Metcalfe, known as the Black Knight of Nappa and Mrs Robinson. Thankfully the house now nestles in serenity amongst some of the prettiest scenery to be found in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, within a working farm environment and shooting estate. In an elevated position, the house is well placed for taking in the views not least from the conservatory where visitors can look over the landscaped gardens to the fields and hills beyond, but also down to Semerwater. Carefully restored, the holiday home combines original features with beautifully and sympathetically decorated rooms, which provide ample space for a group of 12 people.
The bustling market town of Hawes is close by, where one can visit the Dales Centre Museum and Creamery, home to Wallace and Gromits favourite cheese. Semerwater, the large natural lake at the head of the valley, provides a wealth of activities, such as swimming, fishing and sailing. Shops and pubs 4 miles.
