There is much to see and do in the area, a gentle riverside walk takes you to Brougham Castle, and the Lake District and Ullswater, 5 miles, offer superb walking and watersport opportunities. This is an ideal touring base for visiting The North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales, Scottish border and Hadrians Wall.
