The town is positioned on the banks of the River Avon and the Kennett and Avon Canal. Nearby sights include a 14th century fully restored tithe barn, Avoncliffe Gorge and the Roman spa city of Bath. The area is rich in stately homes and gardens including Westwood Manor, Iford, Great Chalfield and The Courts; and within easy reach are the family attractions of Longleat Safari park, Cheddar Gorge and Caves and Stonehenge.
