A level 10-minute walk takes you to the centre of the popular and bustling village of Grasmere which boasts a wide selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. There are many magnificent walks from the cottage doorstep including probably one of the most popular Lakeland walks - a circuit of Grasmere Lake taking in Loughrigg Terrace with its spectacular fell and lake views. Wordsworth called Grasmere ‘the loveliest spot that man has ever found’. One of his homes, Dove Cottage, is in the village and is open to visitors together with a museum. Due to its central location, it is an excellent touring base for the Lake District National Park. Boat hire and teas 300 metres. Shops and pub ½ mile.
