This single storey holiday barn conversion is set in the grounds of the owners’ equestrian smallholding, and enjoys views over farmland. Wally, the miniature donkey, lives in the field adjoining the garden. Guests have exclusive use of the owners’ beautiful heated outdoor swimming pool between 10am and 4.30pm. This quiet location in the Avonvale is adjacent to the chalk downlands of Salisbury Plain, ideal for keen walkers. Visit one of the many stately homes and gardens in the area, including Stourhead; Wiltshire’s finest 18th-century landscaped garden and palladian mansion, Bowood, Longleat Safari Park and home of Lord Bath, and Wilton House. Visit also the picturesque villages of Castle Combe and Lacock; the setting for the Harry Potter films and many period dramas. Walk the White Horse Trail to see the eight white horses carved into the hillside, and enjoy walking, cycling or boat trips along the Kennett and Avon canal, passing through beautiful scenery en route to Bradford-on-Avon and Bath. A few miles from the market town of Devizes, with a wide choice of shops, tea rooms and entertainment. Further afield lies Salisbury and the prehistoric monuments at Stonehenge and Avebury. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
