Halfway between the traditional Dales villages of Askrigg and Carperby, there are many places to visit including Hawes with its Wensleydale creamery, traditional ropemaker and market, Masham, home to the Black Sheep Brewery visitor centre, Leyburn, Semerwater and Ribblehead viaduct.

A drive over the Buttertubs Pass to explore Swaledale is not to be missed. Aysgarth Falls, Kilnsey Trout farm and Bolton Castle make for great days out.
