Set in a peaceful rural location on the borders of Dorset and Wiltshire, Whitebridge Farm is ideally placed for enjoying a family touring holiday. The farm generally has a small flock of sheep, pigs, ducks, poultry and geese, guests are welcome to walk in the fields to visit them, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Both the South Wiltshire and Dorset cycle ways pass nearby and there are numerous waymarked walks to choose from, including the half-hour Shaftesbury town trail, which leads to the famous Gold Hill, with its magnificent views. Many historic houses in the area, including Stourhead (NT), with its famous example of early 18th-century English landscaping. An hour’s drive leads to Bath, Cheddar, Salisbury and Weymouth. Bath, with its Roman baths and Georgian architecture, is a real treat. The caves and gorge at Cheddar are most impressive. Weymouth is a fine resort for fishing, sailing, swimming and sunbathing. Visit Stonehenge, and then the ancient Avebury Stone Circle. Set in 10 acres, the eight cottages, four of which are featured here are grouped around an attractive grassed courtyard and were once stables for the owner’s impressive farmhouse (built in 1872). Old beams have been retained wherever possible and all the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms for added comfort. Shop and pub within a mile and many other pubs serving food and offering outdoor eating/children’s play areas, nearby, why not try East Knoyle for starters.

All properties: Elec, bed linen and towels inc. T/cot. H/chair. Elec cooker. M/wave. Shared laundry room with w/machine and t/dryers (at cost). Shared freezer. Private patio and furniture. Shared use of communal garden. Play area with trampoline and swings. Shared BBQ. Parking. Pets are welcome (must be kept on a lead at all times, working farm) NB: There is only room for the cots if the extra beds have not been used.
