Sedbergh
The market town of Leyburn has developed as the traditional centre for mid-Wensleydale at the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
There is a good range of shops and services and plentiful accommodation.
On Fridays there is an open-air market in the town square with livestock sales at the auction mart. Farmers' markets are held at various timed through the year.
Leyburn 'Shawl', just a short stroll from the centre, gives enviable views across Wensleydale. Leyburn is linked by one of the most unusual river bridges in England to Middleham, 2 miles away. Built in 1829 as one of the first examples of a suspension bridge.
