Grassington
Grassington is one of the most popular, and arguably best loved of the many smaller towns and villages in the Southern Dales.
It is a real destination village due to its attractive location at the foothills of open countryside on the river Wharfe .
Many family owned shops are centred around the cobbled square and offer quality foods, clothing, gifts, arts and crafts alongside cafes, superb restaurants and hotels. Grassington’s hotels, guest houses and cottages are open all year round and provide an excellent base for exploring the Dales and beyond the heart of Wharfedale, in the Yorkshire Dales.
Grassington Festival is a two-week long annual event during the last two weeks of June encompassing music, performance, and visual arts, held in a variety of venues around the village.

The picturesque village of Appletreewick lies in the heart of Wharfedale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Appletreewick provieds the perfect base for hiking in the yorkshire dales. Paths up through Skyredale and up towards the ever present figure of Simon's seat crag will make this village one of my all time favourites of the dales.
