This weekend afforded what might be some of the last decent weather of the year, so we took a trip up to Ingleton, and the waterfalls trail.
After living in the area for nearly 30 years, and visiting Ingleton many times I have never been around the trails route before, for one reason or another (maybe my reluctance of car parking charges) hiking off in other directions.
However, the walk was superb, well layed out and we relly enjoyed the 4 mile amble. Most of the paths are well laid and easy going, with a few places to watch your step.
At this time of year it made a great half day out and we took our time.
We stopped for lunch by Thornton Force, probably the most famous of the waterfalls. There has been plenty of rainfall and runoff over the last couple of weeks and the falls were in a decent torrent. The drop is around 14 metres and looked spectacular. Definately worth a visit, and even at this time of year was not too busy to spoil the walk.
