We are looking for a couple (or pair of friends) to help at Eastfield Lodge, our welcoming and hospitable walking lodge in the glorious Yorkshire Dales.
Start Date: March 7th 2011
Salary: Call for details of the live in package
Eastfield Lodge has 9 en suite bedrooms and some additional accommodation in its adjoining Coach House. It is located about 200m from the traditional market square of Leyburn, one of North Yorkshire’s prettiest towns, principal town of Wensleydale and gateway to the Dales National Park.
This beautiful, unspoilt and hilly corner of England inevitably attracts outdoor enthusiasts – walkers and cyclists in the main. Simultaneously, it attracts people who simply come to explore the numerous places of interest, the traditional stone-clad villages and nearby celebrated historic centres, such as Ripon, York and Durham.
The house is used for short walking breaks. At the weekends, it is run as a Bamp;amp;amp;amp;B.
We are looking for a live-in couple (or 2 friends) to work alongside our main hosts, helping with the day to day running of the house and the walking breaks. One of you will be capable of cooking a good English breakfast on quite a regular basis. Between you, you will also be able to prepare the occasional home-cooked supper for up to 18 people.
It is essential that you are naturally welcoming, courteous, engaging and enthusiastic – that you are hard working, applying good attention to detail and happy to go the extra mile when required.
Whilst your involvement in the walking breaks will allow you to spend time in the outdoors, discovering the Yorkshire Dales (either independently in your own time or in a working capacity with our guests as part of our walking break programme), we require people who are happy to balance their outdoor time with a robust commitment to the daily domestic and menial tasks that will ensure the professional, hospitable and efficient running of Eastfield Lodge.
These domestic chores include involvement at breakfast, packed lunches, occasional suppers, laundry, room cleaning and preparation, welcoming guests and helping them to get the best from their time in the area. It is the perfect opportunity for a couple with an interest in hospitality and a passion for walking and exploring the great outdoors.
It is likely that in addition to time off during the week, you will also get every other weekend off, dovetailing with our main hosts, Dave and Pauline Oldacres.
If interested then please apply by email to work@colletts.co.uk for the attention of Phil Melia. Please send a cover note in your email, with CVs and a photo attached. Thank you.
I will be away now until the 4th January and I will contact any applicants after the 4th Jan for a chat.
Please do not apply if you are not in the UK or available for an interview in Yorkshire during January or February. Thank you.
We look forward to hearing from you!
