Wensleydale Heifer, one of the oldest inns and boutique hotels in Yorkshire Dales, has received another award for their work, when it was listed as one of the top 50 pubs in the Times.
The hotel was also one of twelve UK companies in the Times Top 100 hotels worldwide.
Wensleydale Heifer has received numerous awards, including two AA rosettes, AA Seafish pub in England, the Yorkshire Post newspaper Seafood Pub of the Year and No 1 10 seafood restaurant in High Times Magazine.
The owner and chef David Moss was educated at Longueville Manor, who was then the Channel Islands’ only Michelin starred restaurant, and has since worked on a number of large companies, including the Crab at Chieveley, AA Seafood Restaurant of the Year 2005-06.
Mr. Moss is proud of its close links with leading independent suppliers of fish and the Wensleydale Heifer has a team of five counts.
In addition to producing what has been described as one of the best seafood in the country, Heifer provides support for the local economy by focusing on homegrown produce with meat from butchers breeding better Dales, fresh vegetables from Bedale, Chocolate Leyburn, Wensleydale cheese, and egg farmers in West Witton.
The restaurant with rooms “also launched the exclusive Diners Club ‘for its restaurant and seafood bar. Members receive discounts, exclusive offers, and even a glass of champagne at the restaurant during the month of birth.
